I bought the base game and every expansion and stuff pack up until Pets - which is when I switched to a Mac and couldn't use my digital copies anymore and EA told me to suck it up and buy everything all over again - and which is also when I moved into an apartment and needed that money for more important things like electricity. My main reason for piracy concerning The Sims 3 is very simple - I don't have the money. Complaining about it just means that you don't actually like the game, and then why are you even coming here to cry? By spending more money, the value of your game goes up. The concept of DLC and expansion packs aren't as bad as people make them sound, especially in a game like the Sims.

Its not like WoW, where you have to buy every expansion to actually play the game. If you don't like Ambitions, don't get it! You are only missing out on the careers and items. Third, most Expansion pack gives you LOADS of content and game play features, and you don't need them all.

Second, as another posted below said, they -do- add free content every patch. Do you mean merely every Expansion pack and stuff pack in the Sims? Or do you mean every EP, SP, AND all of the Sim Store items? This is a major difference.
